Overview

"Dex" is a private, self-hosted assistant operated by Koen Hendriks for his own household in Lemmer, the Netherlands. It is not a commercial product and is not offered to the public.

Data we access

• Google Calendar (read-only) — event summaries, times, and locations for the upcoming two days, across the calendars the household has chosen to share.

Why we access it

Calendar data is used solely to detect upcoming trips (e.g. commuting, appointments) so the household's electric vehicle can be charged sufficiently in advance. No calendar data is used for any other purpose.

Storage & sharing

• All processing happens on the household's own home server.
• No data is sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising or profiling.
• Access tokens are stored locally and used only to read the household's own calendar.

Your control

Calendar access can be revoked at any time from the Google account's security settings (Third-party apps with account access), which immediately stops Dex from reading the calendar.
